Matchmaking FAQ
Can anyone see my profile?
No. There is no public directory and no member browsing. Your profile is not indexed by search engines and cannot be reached by guessing a URL. Nazila reviews profiles; other members do not.
Do I have to be religious?
No. JLov is built for Jews across the whole range — culturally Jewish, traditional, Reform, Conservative, Orthodox, Sephardic, Ashkenazi, Persian, Israeli, convert, or none of those labels comfortably. The intake asks what you actually do and what you actually want. It does not produce a religiosity score and no answer makes someone “more Jewish” than anyone else.
What if my observance and my partner’s are different?
That is extremely common and it is not automatically a problem. What matters more is whether the home you each want to build is the same home, and whether you have each said how much difference you could live with. The Jewish Home Vision section is designed to surface exactly that, early, rather than leaving it to be discovered later.
Will you tell me whether I am Jewish?
No, and you should be wary of anyone who would. Jewish status is decided differently by different movements and halachic authorities, and where it matters — for marriage, for a wedding, for community membership — it belongs with a rabbi who knows your situation, not with a website.
Do I have to upload photos?
Photos help, but they are private and never appear in any public listing. They are shared only when both people have agreed to an introduction. We do not score, rate, or analyse them.
Why do you ask for social profiles?
They are optional. They help us understand your life and verify that a potential introduction makes sense. They are not displayed publicly. We do not scrape them and we do not use them to infer anything about your health, religion beyond what you report, background, politics, or private life.
Where do you make matches?
Profiles are accepted from anywhere. JLov’s strongest personal and community connections are currently in California and New York, so the pool is deepest there — but geography is only one input, and long distance works for plenty of people who have said honestly that it would.
How long does it take?
There is no honest answer to this. It depends on who is in the pool, what you are looking for, and luck. JLov is not designed to keep you logging in while you wait — there is nothing to check. If there is someone worth considering, you will hear from us.
Can I pause or delete my profile?
Yes, at any time, from your own profile link or by asking us. Pausing removes you from matching without deleting your answers. Deleting closes the profile entirely.
